GOLF COURSES IN TENERIFE

Apart from El Penon in the north of the island all the rest of the golf courses have been built during the last twenty years and are still being improved whilst being in full time use.

Amarilla Golf There are at present two 27 hole complexes, (Golf Costa Adeje and Golf del Sur), four eighteen hole courses (Amarilla Golf, Buenavista, El Penon and Golf Las Americas) with three par three nine hole courses (Amarilla, La Rosaleda and Los Palos). Plus more courses in the pipeline one of which Abama golf is due to open soon.

El Penon has some lovely traditional golf course style housing along the first fairway which doesn't come onto the market very often and even then is often snapped up by someone "in the know" so let's leave that and concentrate on the newer courses.

Golf del Sur has been in existence for around seventeen years and has developed into a small town. The golf course, eighteen holes championship plus nine holes of links, is a reasonably easy course which can change dramatically when the wind blows strongly. Surrounding many of its fairways are properties ranging from apartments to linked bungalows to individual villas. There is also a commercial area with many different types of shops, bars and restaurants. The area is also served by the local bus company so a trip to the shopping centre of Santa Cruz whilst ones partner is playing golf is a possibility.

Golf del Sur Amarilla Golf Course
Amarilla Golf was developed at around the same time as Golf del Sur but with a much lower density of Tenerife golf property giving a feeling of spaciousness to the area. The eighteen hole championship golf course is a tremendous layout with some stunning holes and also probably the toughest test of golf especially to those used to "spraying it around". There were some problems for the developer when the property slump hit forcing parts of the infrastructure to remain uncompleted. Thankfully these problems have now been resolved and are in the process of being rectified and this along with the new marina which is nearing completion means that property prices here must rise faster than other golf areas certainly worth a look for those investing in Tenerife golf property with an eye to the future.

Golf Las Americas, situated in the heart of the main tourist area is the busiest (and most expensive) of the courses, it is again a championship course normally kept in excellent condition. Most of the golf property here is low rise good quality apartment, townhouse or linked bungalow with the town of Los Cristianos and the nightlife of Las Americas a short drive or taxi ride away.

Golf Costa Adeje has an eighteen hole championship course with a further nine hole academy course which is often used in the summer to allow maintenance work to be carried out and still allow eighteen holes to be played. The golf property surrounding this course is of a very low density and consequently tends to be in the upper price range of Tenerife golf property.

Adeje Adeje Golf Course
Abama golf is a new prestigious development soon to be opened with five star hotels spas etc.

Buena Vista del Norte is the newest of the courses to be opened and has already held a round of the ladies European tour. This course has some spectacular holes along the coast and although of a shorter nature it can still be a great test of golf. If staying in the south I would advise checking the weather conditions in the north before making the drive. There is some development of golf property taking place here but of a smaller nature.

UK singles holidays The best way to visit Barcelona is to get a hotel near Sagrada Familia. From here it is easy to discover the many attractions in Barcelona.
